  1. Hello Sylvia

This is beautiful and at the same time very deep! I should remember this part!! Do you often use "rubies" as a metaphor? the "rubies" intrigued me a lot because I once had a dream in which I was given a beautiful purse(its shape was a heart) embroidered with lots of shining rubies....
Thank you so much for sharing!!

  2. Hello my dear Sapphire,

I am so glad you enjoyed this post. These very short stories by Julio Cortázar are true "gems", just as the rubies of this clock. Yes, rubies are commonly used as a metaphore. The dream you tell about is extremely beautiful (and intriguing!). I read that rubies are considered to be stones of great power, vitality and protection. Rubies and sapphires are varieties of gem-quality corundum, so they have many things in common! Maybe the purse symbolizes prosperity? The shape of a heart should be definitely related to love, feeling and friendship. I have a passion for the interpretation of dreams, so I thank you twice... once for visiting and the other for sharing your experience! :-)
